META FRIDAY!!
Because of Meta Friday, I'm posting a meta on insanejournal and not posting on livejournal.



So, I'd always been one of those people who didn't believe that they could seriously make it in an internet relationship, whether because of the distance or my own trust issues or because of my issues about image. I'd also been one of those people who kind of scoffed at people who say they're in a relationship even though they've never officially met.

And, then... I ended up meeting someone on collarme (of all the places!) who is fantastic and a dom who isn't obsessed with the fact that he's a dom and a giant nerd and completely interesting. And I was really embarrassed at first because he was my "internet boyfriend" or what-have-you and wouldn't actually call him anything other than a friend. And then a month of talking every single night passed and suddenly, we were officially a couple.

Now, I'm meeting my boyfriend for the first time today, which makes me somewhat nervous. Jade, her boyfriend, and I are driving approximately 5 hours (to the place we're ironically moving... this had nothing to do with my boyfriend) to look at places to live and for me to meet him. I haven't let myself fall fully for him or let him too close emotionally up to this point because I need to meet him first, but it should be an interesting weekend anyway.

So, my thoughts at the moment on internet relationships are as follows: Sometimes they can be great. Sometimes they can be cheesy and not really relationships at all. Sometimes they can the best start to a relationship because you can get to know a person without all of the physical mess first. Sometimes you'll meet someone who lies all the time and you never get to know them at all. Basically, internet relationships are just like real relationships, except with different complications. Sometimes you meet a gem and sometimes you meet a real ass.



So, there are my early morning, quickly written thoughts. I'll be gone for the weekend. Wish me luck!!
